As previously reported, Apple will no longer sell the iPhone 14 and iPhone SE in the European Union due to local legislation that requires all smartphones sold there to have a USB-C port. Apple initially introduced the HomePod mini in 2020 alongside the iPhone 12 lineup, and since then, the product has remained mostly untouched. Apple added some new color options in 2021, including blue, orange, and yellow. The company also replaced Space Gray with Midnight this year, which looks the same – except its now 100% recycled mesh fabric.
However, for the first time in half a decade, Apple will finally be updating the HomePod mini, with a couple of enhancements.

Mark Gurman from Bloomberg recently reported that Apple will be redesigning the – for the first time since its introduction in 2009. In the mouses fifteen-year history, the design has remained mostly the same, besides the switch from AA batteries to Lightning in 2015, and Lightning to USB-C in 2024.

Display analyst Ross Young said back in September that the entire iPhone 17 line-up would be getting ProMotion displays, a feature currently exclusive to the two Pro models. This is now backed by a new supply-chain report over the weekend.
The latest report is a little less specific, referring only to “a high refresh rate,” but it does imply that non-Pro models will get both ProMotion benefits for the first time …
