The Lexar Play is a gaming-oriented follow-up to the NM790. It keeps the good all-around performance and power efficiency but adds a heatsink and an 8TB SKU. The MSRP is far too high, but street pricing has already dropped to more reasonable levels.
SK hynix's Beetle X31 gets roomier, with a 2TB capacity. Its performance isn't the best in its class, but is still solid. Its peble-like shape, solid metal shell, and excellent accessories help it stand out.
The Klevv CRAS C925 SSD has good hardware and performs decently, but it fails to deliver anything special in the crowded budget SSD field. The 2TB model is also out of stock everywhere, which makes it difficult to recommend when we can't see retail pricing.
Games keep getting bigger, and these days a 1TB SSD won't go very far. So, why save $20 and get half the capacity when you can pick up this 2TB TLC drive for just $90?
